Position Summary

The Event Services Intern will learn to coordinate and execute events to completion. This internship is a comprehensive, hands-on learning program designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice. The selected candidate will gain real-world experience by applying academic concepts and theories to practical challenges in an event management industry setting, engage with various aspects of the sport/entertainment industry, and develop knowledge to deepen their understanding of industry trends, and expand their professional network. This Intern will assist the Events Department in the coordination, execution, and completion of various events held at the Liacouras Center. The Event Services Intern will also assist with scheduling, and deployment during events.

 

This role is expected to last from January 12, 2026 and will end on March 27, 2026.

 

This role will pay an hourly rate of $17.00

 

This position will remain open until January 7, 2026.

About the Venue

The Liacouras Center is a 10,000-seat multi-purpose venue located on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. The venue is a full-service sports and entertainment arena featuring Temple University Men’s and Women’s Basketball, along with a variety of concerts, family shows, meetings, banquets, and more! The largest indoor public assembly venue north of City Hall in Philadelphia at 340,000 sq. ft., formerly known as the Apollo of Temple, The Liacouras Center was renamed and dedicated to former Temple University President, Peter J. Liacouras, on February 13, 2000.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior management to execute events, ensuring that all deliverables meet objectives, and adhere to the intended strategies, timelines, policies, and guideline
  • Assist the Events Department in the management of event and parking staff including scheduling, deployment for events, and supervising
  • Complete special projects as assigned by management
  • Attend departmental and building meetings as needed
  • Provide administrative support
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, is required
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Temple students encouraged to apply.
  • Recommended for Sports Management, Management, or Hospitality Majors
  • Availability to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, including evenings and weekends
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing is required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to function and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
