Position Summary

The Programming & Community Relations Intern will support the day-to-day efforts of the Programming and Community Relations teams by contributing to event research, community outreach initiatives, and industry engagement. This role offers hands-on experience in live event programming and nonprofit partnerships, with opportunities to assist in both internal planning and external communications. This intern will have the opportunity to learn how world-class events are researched, negotiated, scheduled, and executed from concept to showtime. They will also learn how to build meaningful partnerships, coordinate impactful outreach programs, and create memorable experiences that strengthen the arena’s connection with its local community.

 

Internship Details: 

  • Not to exceed 20 hours per week 
  • Internship Dates: Fall Semester 2025 (August– December) 
  • Location: Moody Center, on UT campus 

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $13.00

 

This position will remain open until August 31, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Research event data—including market history, artist grosses, and upcoming music releases—to help inform booking strategy 
  • Help manage the suite donation and ticket request program through correspondence with local nonprofits, community partners, etc.
  • Learn how world-class events are researched, negotiated, scheduled, and executed from concept to showtime. 
  • Assist with industry recognition efforts by assembling and shipping personalized gifts for key partners 
  • Support Red River Rising social media, auction, and website efforts, including brainstorming of content, design, calendaring, and strategic planning. 
  • Learn how to build meaningful partnerships, coordinate impactful outreach programs, and create memorable experiences that strengthen the arena’s connection with its local community.
  • Support preparation for industry hosting events by setting up hospitality spaces 
  • Creation of community relations 2025 Impact Report to recap all programs, initiatives, etc. supporting the local community 
  • Coordinate volunteer opportunities for employees, premium members, and partners. 
  • Help coordinate and oversee logistics for holiday community efforts, including canned food drive, gifting, etc.   
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

  • Background in nonprofit work, community relations, and/or live entertainment 
  • Strong self-awareness, time management, and organizational skills with proven ability to multi-task and manage projects on strict deadlines 
  • Understanding of Austin local nonprofit landscape  
  • Positive attitude and passion for community relation efforts 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentational communication with strong attention to detail and design 
  • Strategic and critical thinker who is dynamic, forward-thinking, analytical, and extremely well organized
