Position Summary

The Marketing Activation Intern will help develop monthly marketing plans that highlight OVG's initiatives in sustainability, DEI, and corporate projects, creating heartfelt, inclusive, and exciting stories to tell the OVG story effectively. The role also includes managing website SEO and video content creation. During the summer, the specialist will lead the creation of internship stories, organizing videos and interviews, and producing content for interns to share on their personal and corporate social channels. Having a wide range of marketing interests is a plus. This position reports directly to the Global Marketing Manager.

 

This role pays an hourly rate of $17 to $20.

About the Ascend HBCU Internship Program

 

The Ascend HBCU Internship Program is a cornerstone of OVG’s commitment to fostering diverse talent and creating pathways into the sports and live entertainment industry. Designed specifically for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, this immersive program offers hands-on experience, professional development, and mentorship to prepare students for impactful careers.

 

Program Highlights

 

  • Career Readiness Workshops: Students will participate in sessions designed to equip them with essential tools and strategies for entering the workforce with confidence.
  • Mentorship: Each intern will be paired with an OVG leader who will provide guidance, support, and insights into their career journey.
  • Capstone Project: Interns will collaborate on a project addressing real-world challenges in sports and entertainment, honing their problem-solving, teamwork, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Lunch & Learn Series: Students will engage with industry experts during company-wide sessions to gain a deeper understanding of the business.
  • Capstone Showcase: The program culminates with interns presenting their capstone projects, celebrating their achievements and demonstrating the knowledge and skills they’ve acquired.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop monthly marketing plans that showcase all OVG has to offer in the realms of sustainability, DEI and corporate initiatives.
  • Create stories around initiatives- how can we tell the OVG story in a heartfelt and inclusive and exciting manner.
  • Responsible for website SEO under the Senior Director of Digital.
  • Bonus if you have content creation experience- and able to create social reels and videos.
  • Lead summer Internship content capture; organize videos, interviews, and create content for each intern to share on their own social channels as well as corporate pages.
  • Additional marketing related tasks as necessary.

 

Qualifications

  • Rising Junior, Senior, or graduate student in Marketing/Communications
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe, Canva and Microsoft
  • Experience with website SEO
  • Experience in content creation- portfolios a plus!
  • Project management
  • Strong communication skills (written & oral) with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Must be able to work remotely or hybrid from NY office 
  • Must be enrolled full-time at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) at the time of the program start
